Saraswathi Nirthya Vidyalaya At Kalidas Natyagruh Mulund(W)
A Tillana or thillana is a rhythmic piece in Carnatic music that is generally performed at the end of a concert and widely used in classical indian dance performances. A Tillana uses tala-like phrases in the pallavi and anupallavi, and lyrics in the charanam. Some have theorized that it is based on the Hindustani tarana. Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna was an Indian Carnatic vocalist, musician, multi-instrumentalist, playback singer, composer, and character actor. He has garnered two National Film Awards (1976, 1987), the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1975, the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honor in 1991, for his contribution towards arts, the Mahatma Gandhi Silver Medal from UNESCO in 1995, the Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government in 2005, the Sangeetha Kalanidhi by Madras Music Academy in 1978, and the Sangeetha Kalasikhamani in 1991, by the Fine Arts Society, Chennai to name a few. Indian classical music has got the greatness of tuning even a layman in to a musical intonation through its aesthetic beauty. Thillana is one such music blended with few syllables, words of poetic beauty and brisk tempo tuned in a mellifluous raga binds and elates the listeners. Sung generally during the end of the concert, Thillana makes the presentation complete and captivates the audience. There have been several doyens of Classical music who have made monumental contributions towards popularizing various forms of Music. In the case of Thillanas, the multifaceted musician Padma Vibhushan Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna has made many aesthetic compositions through his dulcet voice and made awestruck admiration from the listeners. #learnhowtosing #sing #howtosing #learntosing #learntosingthillana #balamuralikrishna
